Abstract

Climate change and the digitalization of cities demand public spaces that are adaptive, inclusive, and user-oriented. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the application of human-centered design and thermal comfort, accessibility, safety perception, duration of use, and microclimate performance as an indication of climate resilience. The mixed methods method was used through behavioral observation, temperature and humidity measurements, questionnaires to 120 users, and interviews with eight stakeholders. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Spearman correlation, and thematic analysis. The results show that vegetation, shade, adaptive furniture, universal access, and information technology are positively related to the quality of user experience. The research concludes that the integration of environmental performance, inclusive design, and user-oriented technologies supports the development of smart, climate-resilient public spaces
