Abstract

The collective perception of sacred time in contemporary Hindu communities is an important aspect of understanding the relationship between religious practices, cultural values, and sustainability decisions in the midst of modern social change. This research aims to explore how the Hindu community interprets sacred time and how this meaning affects the vulnerability of sustainability decision-making. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design; Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation of 16 purposively selected informants, including religious leaders, traditional leaders, and community members. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through the process of reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the ritual calendar, holy days, and dharma values form a collective consciousness in maintaining a socio-ecological balance. This research contributes to the development of religious studies and sustainability based on local wisdom
